Vitamins don’t really contribute to health !?

Many people drink vitamin tablets and snacks with vitamin in them, in hope of a healthier lifestyle.

According to BMJ Open’s paper in 2018 http://dx.doi.org/10.1136/bmjopen-2020-039119:

A study has been conducted on “multivitamin” supplements. It concluded that they are totally ineffective for preventing heart disease and stroke. In addition, they are not only “ineffective in preventing illness”, but doesn’t boost your healthiness in any way. The paper pointed out that vitamin tablets have no positive effect at all.

In the United States, about one-third of the population believes that it consuming these vitamin tablets “boosts your health” and takes multivitamins on a daily basis. Although no adverse effects have been reported, they seem to have no positive effect either.

Manish D Paranjpe, who conducted the survey, acknowledged that the only meaningful use of supplements is for pregnant women who are prescribed with folic acid to prevent neural tube defects in children. He also said “At least, there are no evidence that daily intake of multivitamins can help anything.” “If you have the money to buy supplements, I think you should rather use it for healthier food and diet instead.”

Very intriguing report.
