A 64-year-old crazy woman who pierced unpurchased Yubari melons with her fingers, is arrested.

In July 2020, a 64-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dealing damage to unpurchased property at a supermarket in Kushiro City for puncturing 13 Yubari melons displayed at the sales floor with her fingers.

Accrding to hbc news, an unemployed woman (64) from Otanoshikeminami, Kushiro City was arrested.

The woman is suspected of having pierced at least 13 of the Yubari melons displayed at the supermarket in Hoshigauraodori, Kushiro City, around 1:30 pm on July 28, this year.

According to the store officials, an employee found a thumb-sized hole of about 1 to 2 cm in the Yubari melon in the cardboard box that was on the sales floor, and the store manager reported the damage to the police.

The total amount of melons damaged is about 14,000 yen or about $130 dollars.

According to the supermarket, the security camera did not show the woman, but police were able to arrest the woman.

What a disastrous news. I feel bad for the supermarket empoyees and the farmers who produced the melon. Yubari melons are famous for their sweet, delicious, fruitful taste.
