Manute Bol (October 16, 1962-June 19, 2010) is a former professional basketball player and activist from South Sudan.
Bol, who is 231 cm tall and weighs 100 kg, is the tallest NBA record holder in NBA history, along with Gheorghe Mureshan.
He is the son of a Dinka chief in southern Sudan, the name “Manute” means “grace.”
The Dinka are the tallest people in the world, with a father of 203 cm, a mother of 208 cm, and a great-grandfather of 240 cm.
His son Bol Bol is also an NBA player and belongs to the Denver Nuggets.
