In July 2020, a 64-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dealing damage to unpurchased property at a supermarket in Kushiro City for puncturing 13 Yubari melons displayed at the sales floor with her fingers. Accrding to hbc news, an unemployed woman (64) from Otanoshikeminami, Kushiro City was arrested. The woman is suspected of having pierced at least 13 of the Yubari melons displayed at the supermarket in Hoshigauraodori, Kushiro City, around 1:30 pm on July 28, this year.
